Chicory Cafe Live Music Fridays!

This weekend I went down to Chicory Cafe for Live Music Fridays. This week I was asked to open for the band Skinny Soul. I loved the experience! Chicory Cafe is such a great place to play music and listen to other good friends. If you haven't been to Chicory Cafe, make sure you stop by!

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've last updated my blog, so let me fill you in on what I'v been up to recently.

This past school year I teamed up with classmates to form The Skwarcan Experience. We competed and came in first place at a local battle of the bands known as Caugstock.

After winning the competition we went on to play several other gigs including Massimo's Pizza, On the River: Teen Night, and Seitz and Sounds: Open Stage.

One of the highlights of my summer was being able to play multiple times at Seitz and Sounds: Open Stage. I performed on the stage solo, with The Skwarcan experience, and with some of my other talented friends including Damon Taylor Frick and Kelly Dietz.

Along with many other talented people in the Michiana area, I auditioned for Michiana's Rising Star. Although I did not make it very far, It was a great experience. It is truly amazing how much talent our community has!

Speaking of talent, I was able to help celebrate The Music Village's first birthday this year! The Music Village is a great non-profit that gives music and dance lessons. I played with my sister, Kelly Dietz, in celebration of TMV along with many other talented musicians. I even made the paper the next day!

Another competition is entered was the 4H Fair's talent competition. There were many talented competitors and I was lucky enough to receive second place!

Towards the end of the summer one of the last gigs I played was at Art Beat. I also received the opportunity to be spotlighted on Fox 28 morning news! I played outside of the State Theatre and on the Grid Iron. I had a blast playing and seeing so many familiar faces.

The summer of 2013 has been amazing! I am so lucky to have had all of these opportunities among many more. Thank you to everyone who has supported me!
